As a part of the service industry, we have a mission to serve our customers, our employees, and our communities. Compeat supports many efforts year-long, such as No Kid Hungry, and encourages our employees to do the same by even providing a paid time-off day for employees to spend giving back to the community.
During the holidays we make an extra effort to give back directly to the communities where our employees and their families live by helping other local families build special holiday memories. We are honored to serve our 2019 selected charities for each office that are mentioned below:
We were excited to share the holiday cheer by adopting two families in need through Blue Santa. The mission of the Austin Police Operation Blue Santa is to provide toys and food for families in need during the holiday season. Compeat adopted both the family of a single mother of seven children under the age of 12 and an elderly widow that lives alone, providing them with special gifts to brighten their holiday.
Compeat employees also collected toys for B.I.G. Love’s Toy Closet. B.I.G. Love provides toys on a weekly basis for the cancer clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital (main and west campus) and Dell Children’s Medical Center, serving approximately over 600 children and teens each month. After procedures, pokes or radiation, cancer kids at the clinic get to take a trip to the B.I.G. Love toy closets and pick out a special surprise. The Toy Project has brought to the children and teens at the cancer clinic many smiles and much joy.
Our dog-friendly Austin office also couldn’t resist helping out our furry friends in need! Caring for more than 11,000 animals a year means that the Austin Humane Society goes through a lot of stuff: food, bowls, toys, blankets, towels, kitty litter, etc. Compeat collected items from their wish list in effort to make some tails wag this holiday season.
Our Petaluma office adopted a family of six that were affected by the Northern California Fires this year through the Healdsburg Presents Project. The families in need prepare a wish list for each member of the family (adults as well as children) which includes the first name, age, gender, clothing sizes, and a brief list of items wanted. Compeat employees pulled together and purchase gifts for each family member, wrapped and labelled the gifts and delivered them.
We send warm wishes and hope that all of these families and animals have an amazing holiday filled with great memories!
