Compeat provides comprehensive payroll capabilities that can be tailored to your company's specific needs. Start by specifying your preferred settings for the various features of Payroll.
Because different restaurants operate and account for business in different ways, even in the same company, Compeat provides the ability to configure a payroll system for each restaurant.
Payroll Definitions
The General tab is where you specify minimum wage, credit card fees, taxpayer ID numbers, and the like. Parameters for how you handle regular payroll bookkeeping are on the Daily Time Edits tab. The rest of the tabs have, among other settings, boxes where you enter account numbers to be used as you process payroll.

Deductions/Earnings Codes
The Deductions/Earnings Codes screen is where you define all the earnings and deductions codes you will use in your payroll system, and associate each one with a description, a GL account number, a code type, and, for certain code types, an order of deduction precedence. The D/E codes you define here become available when you are defining each employee's employment specifications.

Departments
The Departments screen is where you create your employee groups. Hourly employee group definitions may be designated as directly tipped, indirectly tipped, or not tipped at all. Separate accounts may be designated for overtime, sick pay, and vacation pay.
